Ecological sustainability indicators data (plant, litter, soil, sand and gravel cover and forage yield) were collected through field measurements. The socioeconomic vulnerability index of the rangelands was then mapped in a Geographic Information System (GIS). A composite index of socioeconomic vulnerability was obtained as the weighted average of the socioeconomic indicators. The value and importance of the socioeconomic indicators (obtained from the questionnaire) in determining socioeconomic vulnerability was estimated by rangeland users and experts through Me-Bar and Valdez technique. We surveyed 61 rangeland users from 15 summer rangelands to collect data on socioeconomic indicators. This study aimed to assess socioeconomic vulnerability and its relation to ecological sustainability in Natanz county's rangelands, Isfahan province, Iran.
